Deze cake is voor Wieneke. Wanneer deze vriendschap is ontstaan is mij niet helemaal meer duidelijk. Maar ik deelde voor het eerst iets persoonlijks op Food Bandits. Ik deelde daarvoor alleen veel ontbijtfoto’s en een dirty martini maar ik geloof dat ik iets zei over hoe moeilijk het kan zijn als chronisch zieke om de schoonheid in dingen te blijven zien. Yes the version of Feasting on Fruit of this tart looks way prettier but my current oven is weird and simply aims to burn things. Luckily the taste was still amazing and the powdered sugar trick came once again to the rescue.And this almond date tart is simply delicious.

Rhubarb lemon cake

A few days ago, we had our first couple of warm days of the year (not a fan, and not happy). We ate our first asparagus and turnips, and now the time has come for rhubarb. A while ago we made a rhubarb compote to go with this wonderful cheesecake, and now we have created a lovely lemon rhubarb cake.

This cake tastes wonderfully fresh and a little sour, but I think that’s what makes rhubarb actually taste like rhubarb.

Basic vegan and gluten free cake

Johann and I have labelled this cake our basic cake. It goes perfectly with any type of fruit, topping or sauce. On top of that it is also very easy to make and has great texture and taste. And I know that people who love breakfast cake will also definitely enjoy this one. What else can I say except…. bake this cake!

Decadent chocolate tahini pie

This cake is truly luxurious. The biscuit made from chocolate and almonds, the layer of rich chocolate that covers it, the sweet fudge with sea salt, the tahini, and you could even add an extra layer of caramel with some coconut cream and powdered sugar if you want to go extra fancy. This cake is more than just a treat.
